Johnny Cash, June Carter and John Clemens
The 3 JC’s ! This blurry photograph was taken by my father James Clemens in the lobby The Thunderbird. He was not camera savvy like my grandmother Texas Peggy who was good friends with Mother Maybelle Carter. My grandparents knew June growing up and met Johnny Cash along the way as his fame grew. John and Peggy were also great fans as well. His 45s were always in rotation on the jukebox of the Silver Spur restaurant and bar at The Thunderbird. I still have several of his 45s from that jukebox, including I Walk the Line, Folsom Prison Blues and I Still Miss Someone.
